Year 3 Home Learning - Mondrian-inspired Winter Trees: - Hello, Year 3\r Pupils and Parents. I hope you are all\r well and excited about learning from home.\r \r Please find\r yourself somewhere comfortable to sit, with a table in front of you and access\r to water. You will be drawing and\r painting with your watercolour paints for this week’s art activity. You might like to put on some music or an\r audio-book whilst you work, as we do in the art room, to get the full\r experience!\r \r This week you\r shall be working on your Mondrian-inspired Winter Trees. Spend about an hour in total over the\r week. This might be in one session or\r you might like to do it over a couple of days.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Firstly,\r I would like you to complete your A3-sized tree painting. \r \r The stages are\r as follows:\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(i)\r <!--[endif]-->Draw\r the tree in pencil.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(ii)\r <!--[endif]-->Extend branches using pencil, closing all shapes.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(iii)\r <!--[endif]-->Paint over the pencil\r lines using Indian ink.\r \r (Most of you have already completed all of the above in class)\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(iv)\r <!--[endif]-->Paint colours in the gaps between the\r branches, using watercolour paints.\r \r \r You must use either \r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->·\r <!--[endif]-->Harmonious\r Colours (three colours that sit next to each\r other on the colour wheel)or \r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->·\r <!--[endif]-->Complementary\r Colours (two colours that sit opposite each\r other on the colour wheel). \r \r You can look in\r your sketchbooks to remind yourself of the colour wheel and Harmonious and\r Complementary colours.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(v)\r <!--[endif]-->Colour-in the area under your tree, with a colour that contrasts with the colours you\r have used between the branches.\r \r Some of you may\r have already completed most of the above activity in class. The following task is what you should do\r next:\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->2.\r <!--[endif]-->Mondrian-inspired Winter Tree in your sketchbooks:\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(i)\r <!--[endif]-->Attach the tracing paper to a new clean page in your\r sketchbook.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(ii)\r <!--[endif]-->Scribble over and along the lines with a pencil, to transfer a print onto your page.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(iii)\r <!--[endif]-->Carefully remove the tracing paper.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(iv)\r <!--[endif]-->Draw over the lines to make them clearer and then extend them to close all shapes.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(v)\r <!--[endif]-->Draw over\r the lines with a black colouring pencil or carefully paint\r over them with black watercolour\r paint. Leave this to dry.\r \r <!--[if !supportLists]-->(vi)\r <!--[endif]-->Using watercolour\r paints, paint in the gaps using either Complementary or Harmonious colours. If you used\r Complementary colours in your A3 painting, now use Harmonious colours. If you used Harmonious colours in your A3\r painting, now use Complementary colours.\r \r When you have\r finished these, please attempt to take a photograph of them with your iPad and\r send the photos to me, either by email through your parents or using\r OneNote. There will be a OneNote page\r for you to use. \r \r I am looking\r forward to seeing them and hope that you will have fun drawing and painting them. Do not worry if, after an hour, you have not\r finished all of the above tasks. Let me\r know how much you have managed to do, and I shall give you more time in the\r next lesson if you need it.\r \r Happy\r painting!!\r \r Mrs South

Week beginning 23/3/20 - Year 3 drama and dance - Well done to ALL of Year 3 for your hard work rehearsing and performing your 'Bee Musical'. You were all a very important part of it even if you didn't end up performing in it on Friday. We were proud of you all! This week we would like you to watch the video of your play and tell your family all about it! We would then like you to draw a picture of your character and write a few sentences about them. Make the picture colourful! Perhaps you could include some of the bright flowers we had on stage as a background. Finally display your picture at home where everyone can see it!

Week beginning 23/3/20 - Yr 3 - Music home learning - Hello Year 3!If you learn a musical instrument, I want you to practice your instrument each day this week for 15 minutes. Read the instructions your instrument teacher has set you in your red practice book. When you have practised, tick the box for that day. It's best to choose the same time each day to practice, so that you get into a routine.Next term, we'll be having another class concert, so it's important to start a really good practice routine.Happy playing! From Miss Goy
