The sun shone, the rain held off, but the mud was still everywhere! Welcome to the inter house cross country for 2015! It was a great afternoon of running, and more than that it was a great afternoon of friendly house competition. The end result saw Studland coming in as the run away winners (no pun intended!). Here are some memories of the afternoon.
As part of their project on Africa, Noah Messomo, drummer and story teller visited Year 2 for the day. The Year 2 classrooms were filled with stories, songs and rhythms from Cameroon. The day ended with the children holding a drum concert for their parents.
Castle Court entered two teams in the West Wilts Geography Quiz at Warminster School on Thursday 12th February. There were 12 teams in total. Castle Court came first and second. Our winning team named Rock Bottom were Evie, Emma, Samuel and Max. Our other team The Volcano Vipers with Joel, Sabrina, Izzy and Charlie were a close second. Many congratulations to all eight pupils. This has really put the school on the map!
Congratulations to the Girls U12 netball team and the Boys 1st VII hockey team who, respectively, have just won places at the county netball finals and the IAPS hockey finals.
They played in some very hard fought matches to win these places, beating Allenbourne and Dumpton, amongst others, on the way to their wins. We wish them well for the next round of their competitions!
The Lemonade Studios were in school today to take the cast photos for the Year 3 play, “The Pied Piper”. This is one of the out-takes! Mr Frog (the laugh master!) was there again, at the request of the children, to help with giggles and general merriment and he seems to have photo bombed this picture!
The excitement is building across Year 3 as the performance to parents is on Thursday 12th February. If today’s dress rehearsal is anything to go by the play is going to be wonderful!
