East Dorset Swimming Success

Congratulations to the swimming team from Year 4 who have just won the PEDSSA Year 4 East Dorset swimming gala.  This is the third time since 2010 that Castle Court has held this title, which is a great testament to the depth of swimming talent at the school!  Of the 10 events held during the afternoon, Castle Court either won or came second, and they won all four relays.  This means all members of the team will attend the Dorset Final to be held on Friday 20th June.

The boys’ 1st hockey team have won the IAPS southern region tournament held at Canford.  Playing against some of the best prep schools in the area to reach the finals including Ballard, Chaffyn Grove, Clayesmore, Sandroyd and West Hill Park, they then beat Forres Sandle Manor in a nail biting final.  They will now be off of the national finals to be held at Millfield.

Old Castellans Oxbridge bound

We are thrilled with the news that three Old Castellans who are currently at Canford School have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge for the 2014 entry : Daniel Doherty, Biological Sciences, New College Oxford, Cameron Groat, Geography, Gonville and Caius College Cambridge, and Benjamin Mynors-Wallis, Biochemistry, St Anne’s College, Oxford.

In the past 15 years, on average 25% of Canford’s Oxbridge candidates have been Old Castellans.  This is a record of which Castle Court are very proud.
