What a great day! Everyone paid to come to school in mufti, and then at break everyone had a Pudsey biscuit, each one of which had been baked and iced by Nicky and her team in the kitchen. We look forward to sending a big cheque through to Children in Need.
Annette Brook, Castle Court’s local MP spent a morning at the school meeting children and staff. Although she spoke at assembly, taught pupils in Year 2 about Parliament (they were most impressed by the fact that Mrs Brooke had met the Queen and had seen Big Ben), and held a Question and Answer session with Year 7, Mrs Brooke had primarily been invited as part of the on going programme for girls in Year 8 to show them the variety of career options open to them. Other speakers have been invited for the Spring and Summer Term 2013, including a Old Castellan who, graduated with a first in English from Cambridge three years ago and has recently had her first book published with Penguin.
The Early Years (Badger Cubs, Badgers and Reception) were inspected by a team from the Independent Schools Inspectorate in October 2012 and were found to be OUTSTANDING in all areas.
- Outstanding provision in meeting the needs of the range of children who attend
- Outstanding provision of children’s well being
- Outstanding leadership and management of Early Years
- Outstanding in the overall quality and standards of the Early Years provision
We are thrilled with the outcome of the inspection and attach a full-copy of the report for your information.
