Sport at Castle Court

All the children at Castle Court receive a broad and balanced programme of Physical Education and Sport. PE lessons provide plenty of gymnastic instruction, including floor gym, vaulting and sports acro.

Every child in the main school undergoes fitness tests for speed, strength, leg power and stamina and has a personal pupil profile on which the results are recorded and progress monitored. Swimming is taught to all the children throughout the summer PE lessons.

Major sports

Boys Teams - soccer, rugby, hockey, cricket, athletics, swimming.

• 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and 4th - depending on numbers) [Years 7/8]
• Colts A & B [Year 6]
• Junior Colts A & B [Year 5]
• A & B(some training matches) [Year 4]
• (Athletics - U14,13,12,11,10 & 9 and swimming - U14,13,12 & 11 mixed)

Girls Teams - hockey, netball, rounders, tennis, athletics, swimming.

During the school year 2007/8, we will field 42 different boys' teams and 22 girls' teams (plus 4 mixed teams) in 10 different sports. Every boy and girl from Year 4 upwards has the opportunity to represent the school in some of those sports.

Facilities

Our facilities include 4 grass pitches, an Astroturf pitch (which accommodates 2 seven-a-side pitches), plus 8 tennis courts and a cricket training area (+ bowling machine) in the summer, 3 netball/hard tennis courts, 2 Astroturf crickets wickets and a fully heated swimming pool.
