Sport

There are five specialist PE staff and supported by academic staff, they introduce children to a rich range of sports.

The youngest children learn ball-skill co-ordination, gymnastics, dance and ballet, and have plenty of swimming in the summer term to give them early confidence.

"The Sport is wonderful. At my daughter's old school, she never played in a school team – here they try to make sure everyone has a go"

As they move up the school, they learn vaulting, health-related fitness, dance, volleyball and basketball.

From Year 3, children learn individual and team skills in many sports including hockey, athletics and swimming. Boys play football, rugby and cricket; girls learn netball and rounders. Our cross-country running-track loops through the woods, and our eight tennis courts are busy all summer long.

We pride ourselves on keeping up fine sporting standards. There is a competitive fixture list for as many teams as we can possibly find opponents for. This includes matches, tournaments, swimming galas and sports days; home and away fixtures every week.

We encourage all our pupils to take part in games, have lots of worthwhile fun and do the very best they can. Many have represented Dorset and some have achieved national status, as individuals and with their Castle Court Team.
