Before and After School Care

Before School Care

Breakfast Club, which starts at 7.45am, is open to all children from Year 1 upwards, and for children in Reception, Badgers and Badger Cubs by special arrangement.
The children are given cereal, juice and toast in the dining room and are supervised by a member of the teaching team.

At 8.15am they are able to go to their classrooms and start their main school day. The older children are given the responsibility of taking the younger children to their classrooms.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Badgers – Year 2

At the end of the school day the children gather in the Badgers’ classroom and are given a chance to sit quietly, play or watch a little television to slowly unwind at the end of a busy school day. If possible the children can play outside, help look after the guinea pigs and enjoy playing with each other in a relaxed way.

Many children are then picked up at 4.15pm, or go on the bus home. Those who are staying later have tea at a table in the Badger Cubs room, which consists of sandwiches, home-made cakes and juice. This finishes at 4.45pm.

Children who need to stay later then go back to the Pre-Prep where informal activities take place, from making jigsaws, playing board games, going to the school library or having some creative fun.

The children have to be collected no later than 5.45pm.

Activities: Years 3 – 8

The activities on offer vary from term to term but over recent terms have included film making, drama, Ancient Greek, hockey, pig patrol, pottery, netball, cross-country, green fingers, art, outdoor adventures, model making, textiles, geo-caching, swimming, puzzles, science, maths enhancement, mountain biking, lego robotics and duathlon.

Prep: Years 3 – 8

The official school day for children in Years 3 to 8 ends at 4.15pm. Children can either go home, or stay for tea and prep or activities.

Prep begins at 4.45pm each evening and is held in a classroom and supervised by a member of staff. The children have access to the ICT suite should they need to use a computer for any aspect of their homework.

Prep ends at 5.45pm.
