RNLI Challenge winner puts design to the test

Each year the DT department set a challenge.  In 2011 the chidren were asked to design and build a collection point that could be used by the RNLI.  Some great designs were entered for the competition, made from a variety of materials, plastic bottles, lego, paper, and old boxes being some of the construction tools used.  The winners were treated to a special tour of the RNLI centre.  Ben, now in Year 4, decided to put his entry to the test and over the summer asked family and friends to try out his collection point.  He was able to come into school last week with the proceeds and hand them to our Deputy Head who is an RNLI volunteer.
