Welsh rugby star coaches years 7 and 8

Castle Court School recently welcomed Paul Turner a leading rugby coach and former Welsh international rugby  player to come to the school to run training sessions with both the senior boys and girls.

Paul has been coaching at the top level since 1990 and is one of the most experienced coaches within the Aviva Premiership having coached at clubs such as Saracens, Gloucester, and Harlequins and spending 5 years as Director of Rugby in his home region for the Gwent Dragons in Wales. He is currently the Attack and Skills Coach at Premiership side London Wasps.

Paul is highly regarded for his visionary playing ability and for his innovative approach to coaching.

Nick Robinson, Director of Sport at Castle Court stated “ We are thrilled that such an experienced coach has joined us for the day.  The boys’ senior teams have really benefited from the small group coaching approach and highly skills focused training practices that Paul has used today.  The girls were also thrilled to spend time with him and use his expertise in ball handling and individual spacing skills to help them in both their hockey and netball match play. “

Richard Stevenson Headmaster added “ Sport is one of the key added extras, along with music, art and drama that make life for children at prep school so broad ranging.  I am thrilled for the children that they are able to learn from such a well-respected coach at this stage of their sporting lives.  It can only help them as they develop their sporting skills further through their school careers.”
