Sports and Exhibitions Day

Although a number of events have had to be cancelled this term due to the rain on Tuesday 19th June the sun shone and the Sports and Exhibtions day went ahead in a true celebration of  the athletics, art, DT and music that happen across the school.  The actual sports day was as ever filled with parents cheering on the children who were competing for individual success and house points.  The house competition was the closest it has been for many years with it all coming down to the relays at the end, and only eight points between the first and last house. Lulworth were the eventual worthy winners.  Particular congratulations have to go to David from Year 7 and Adam in Year 4 who both broke long standing records. David has also just come second in the shot at the National Athletic Finals in Birmingham. If you would like to see more please click on the following link : sports day 2012

New Activity – Clay Pigeon Shooting

This term we have been able to offer a new after school activity, Clay Pigeon Shooting.  Held at the Purbeck Shooting School, it has been run by Mrs Angie Brook who during her shooting career won more than 30 major championships, including nine British Opens and 11 English Opens in a variety of trap shooting disciplines.  She now spends more time coaching than competitive shooting and we are very fortunate to be able to have her expertise to run this programme.  The children on the course have all done exceptionally well, and are developing into highly accomplished shots. If you would like to find out more about this activity then please email Mr Gilmour at jgilmour@castlecourt.com
