The Castle Court Year 6 boy’s swimming relay team have reached their second national final this season.
The English School’s Swimming Association have held heats across the country over the last six months, pitting the best school swimming relay teams against each other. These events culminated in a number of regional finals. The Castle Court Year 6 boys’ freestyle and medley relay teams won the south-west regional finals at Millfield, and are now going to the National Finals in Sheffield in June. The boys beat teams from King Edwards Bath, Monkton Coombe, Blundells Prep and Bristol Grammar amongst others, to win their places in the Sheffield based finals.
At the same event the combined Castle Court Year 5 and 6 girls’ team were placed 5th in the medley relay and 7th in the freestyle and have also won a place at the National Finals in the medley relay.
The Year 6 boys’ team are also in the Independent Prep Schools freestyle and medley relay final in May. Ben (Year 6 Castle Court) will also be taking part in the individual freestyle final at the same event, along with Izzy (Year 6 Castle Court) who is in the individual breast stroke final.
