The Year 2 classrooms have become a hive of jungle activity this term, with their cross curricular topic of the rainforest and endangered animals. The classrooms are alive with snakes, paper trees, and jungle netting! A really wild place! As part of this topic the whole of Year 2 spent a day at Marwell Zoo, to meet some real beasties.
Year 1 have just been into the woods for a Teddy Bear’s picnic. Each child had sent an invitation to their teddy to join them at the Forest School for a Teddy Bear’s Picnic. The children were given the challenge of designing a waterproof cape for their teddy so they started by experimenting on various materials to see which was waterproof. On the morning of the picnic they made their own sandwiches and teddy bear biscuits, made the cape and then wrapped up warmly for a fantastic picnic. They toasted marshmallows by the fire and all agreed that they and their teddies had had a wonderful day!
