This year’s DT project asked the pupils to design a collecting box for the RNLI. A huge range of mediums were used, from highly complex boxes with amazing electrical circuits, through to games from shoe boxes, a fishing game with magnets and a recycled plastic drinks bottle and a lego cube. The RNLI were very impressed with these submissions and asked the creators to bring their collecting devices to the RNLI headquarters in Poole.
The children were also treated to a look at a lifeboat. A very enjoyable trip.
Mr Glenn, Head of DT at Castle Court said “It was a great opportunity for the children to see how money they could raise for the RNLI through their collecting schemes would be used. I was very impressed with the imagination, hard work and skill that went into the collecting boxes that were submitted.”
